NECK, SHOULDER, AND ARM PAIN OR NUMBNESS

Starting symptoms are occasional neck tension and tightness across the top of the shoulders, difficulty in getting the neck comfortable at night, then occasional arm and hand numbness and tingling, first at night, and eventually in the daytime – sometimes only on little and ring-finger side of hands.  Next would be shoulder aches, loss of strength in arms and hands, underactive thyroid gland, followed by tension in the upper chest area.  X-rays would now show loss of normal forward curve or reverse curve accompanied with disc narrowing, calcium infiltration and osteoarthritis with eventual complete disc deterioration and fusions.  Progressive nerve function loss, with bursitis and arm and hand muscle atrophy, along with the necessity of taking nitroglycerin due to angina pains in the upper chest area.

Although addicting aspirin, pain pills, and thyroid pills can sometimes give only temporary relief, the underlying condition will continue to advance until the misaligned vertebra, which is causing the irritation to the nervous system, is realigned by gentle chiropractic adjustments.

MID BACK PAIN BETWEEN THE SHOULDERS

Millions of people suffer from “pain between their shoulder blades”. The major cause of this nagging condition is misaligned spinal vertebrae (vertebral subluxation) causing pinch nerves and muscle tension.  Usually the misaligned vertebra is locked in the misaligned position.  The condition becomes more painful as time progresses.  If a person with this condition tries to stay in bed too long, the pain get worse until the person is forced to get out of bed and move around.  Although moving around and back massage sometimes eases the pain if strenuous exercise or even jogging is done the pain becomes sharper, like a toothache.  The spinal nerves are irritated at the point of the subluxated vertebrae resulting in accompanying chest and stomach trouble.  The stomach trouble is the kind that is made worse by eating and can eventually develop into duodenal ulcers.  When the intestinal disturbance gets worse there is a feeling that the room is spinning when you lie down.  Further advancing complications lead to spinal disc degeneration and spinal osteoarthritis.  By far the most effective treatment to stop the progression of this condition and gain relief and correction (if caught early) is gentle chiropractic adjustments, without which the condition will only progress.
